| We think it honorable and meriting attention, the following: Design for Living table and floor lamps are made in the USA, as they have been for over 30 years. They produce all of their wood components and do all of the finishing and assembly, as well. Great care, is also taken, in selecting the suppliers that they work with. Being green starts with the smallest issues, and most often sensibility is best. For example, from the purchase of their lumber to the packing of their finished lamps, every effort is made to purchase from local suppliers to minimize both the use of fuel and the costs incurred in transportation. The domestic lumber they use, is renewable and comes from the northeast. They purchase damaged rolls of paper from local printers, that otherwise would go to recycling, to use for packing. We are proud to represent a designer, who has created a sustainable and ecologically sound model. |
