I've often thought of New York designer, Sandy Chilewich, as a master of innovative textiles. Ten years ago she introduced her first woven textiles into the international design community. Each year her collection grows through her tireless experimentation with manufacturing techniques and her passion for the intrinsic beauty and functionality of the material. Chilewich has unquestionably redefined how the world dresses its tables and floors, at home and in the restaurants.

Gazelle Art Glass Salt and Pepper Shakers

The Gazelle Glass Art hand blown Glass Salt and Pepper Shakers are made of Pyrex (borosilicate) glass. Glassblowers, using a torch to melt the glass, are called lampworkers. Colors are added, by vaporizing silver and/or gold onto the glass, or by melting large quantities of Pyrex glass and mixing powdered pigments such as cobalt, chrome, and copper into the molten glass. The molten glass is then stretched into thin sticks called cane and applied in lines and dots to the objects.

Beehive kitchenware began in the pantry of the owners house in 1998. Inspired by the kitchenware they found in old homes and flea markets, they asked why are all of the useful objects made today so plain, when they would be decorative too? So they made their own metal kitchenware, that is as beautiful as it is functional.
