Janna Ugone classic, parchment, shaded, table lamps are a fresh approach to an age-old craft. Oiled parchment was first used around the 1920’s for lamp shades. Today, the same techniques are employed to hand-make their shades. Once the shade is fabricated, it is then meticulously hand painted with Janna Ugone custom designs.

Layers of translucent color are applied to the custom made parchment shades creating a warm glow to this painterly line. Some lampshades are accented with pewter charms, sterling beads, painted buttons or detailed piercing when noted. Each piece is signed and dated.

The new “Architessa” Pottery Base Collection is a complete art form in itself. This Janna Ugone lighting series is all about painting, glaze and architectural form. An aster sprig layered with delicate pattern, a toile garden house, intricate paintings of graceful birds featuring their own innovative hand sculpted buttons, all speak to the freshness of “Architessa.”

Each piece is designed with its own unique shade, base and glaze color, which complement one another. Custom combinations may be quoted on an individual basis. As always, all shades are signed and dated. Each base is double cast for substantial weight and integrity and hallmarked for the discerning collector.
