All of Lara's work features distinctive hand cut paper patterns in rich, saturated colors. Every piece is made by hand, to order, and is protected by a thick glossy resin finish for easy care and cleaning. Starting with a wooden form, Lara layers tissue paper, sometimes hundreds, hand cutting each individual design element to create her designs. Then each piece is coated with a thick glossy resin. The resin reacts with the paper to offer the rich, velvety textured color for the eye, and a hard glass-like feel for the hand. The resin also provides industrial grade durability, heat alcohol, and water resistance. Use soap and water or Windex clean up. Handmade in the USA.
Lara Moore, the artist designer behind Bella Bella Art, hand makes tables, mirrors, seating, and wall art, featuring her distinctive hand cut paper patterns in rich, saturated colors. Every piece is made to order and all pieces are protected by a thick glossy resin finish for easy care and cleaning. All work is suitable for residential and commercial use, including restaurants, counter-tops, and backsplashes. Lara is constantly creating innovative designs and specializes in custom sizes, shapes, color-ways, and patterns. She has loved interior design since she was a little girl, when she would rearrange the furniture to surprise her mother. Lara still feels the same thrill when she creates a new pattern for a table, or finds an unexpected way to use color on a mirror or wall piece. Lara wants to create an inlaid quality, like Byzantine mosaics or the fantastic woodwork of the Arts and Crafts movement, flawlessly precise, with crisp, clean edges. She likes the mystery and surprise of simple paper in this context. Lara wants the viewer to wonder: Is it stone, metal, glass? Lara prefers design that is lush, not busy, and never sentimental. Bella Bella Art patterns are about vines, stones, and stylized foliage; about iron trellis work, mosaics, and Italian ceramics; about French fabrics, crazy Celtic spirals, and Matisse-like fronds.
