One-of-a-Kind Horsehair Fired Raku Lidded Jar H388 by Ron Mello
Ron Mello is a multi-media artist whose one-of-a-kind clay work bridges many styles and materials. This Horsehair Raku Fired Lidded Jar is a beautiful example of his work. It is said that this method was discovered by a pueblo potter, who accidentally had her hair hit a hot pot and carbonized. She then duplicated the effect with horse tail hairs. Horse hair is a symbol for peace and tranquility
