About Sweetheart Gallery
Since 1981, Sweetheart Gallery has been a home for fine American artistry — a curated collection of handcrafted design, soulful beauty, and enduring craftsmanship.
The Art of Craftsmanship, Since 1981
Sweetheart Gallery began as a dream in Woodstock, New York — a town where creativity runs deep and the handmade holds a sacred place. Founded by Norman and Lila Bacon, artists in clay and paint, the gallery opened its doors as a tribute to the American artisan spirit.
What started as a local gathering place for makers and collectors has evolved into an online destination for fine craft and design, carrying forward a tradition of artistry, integrity, and functional beauty.
Every piece we offer reflects the spirit of its maker — the patience of hands, the depth of vision, and the belief that art belongs in everyday life.
Our Philosophy: Crafted for Soulful Living
At Sweetheart Gallery, we believe in objects with soul. In a world of mass production, we choose the deliberate, the enduring, the handmade.
We curate works that are not only beautiful, but built to live with — pieces that gather meaning over time and become part of your story.
-
Authenticity: Every piece is created by a North American artisan — not mass-produced, not outsourced.
-
Functionality: We celebrate functional beauty — art you live with, touch, and cherish daily.
-
Legacy: Our collection honors both timeless techniques and fresh creative voices.
-
Connection: We honor the invisible thread between maker, object, and collector.

Carrying the Legacy Forward
In 2025, a new chapter begins as Sara Bacon, daughter of founders Lila and Norman, joins the gallery leadership. Raised amidst artists, kilns, and canvas, Sara brings a deep reverence for the craft heritage of Sweetheart Gallery — paired with a contemporary vision for its future.
Through Sara’s leadership, Sweetheart Gallery will continue to evolve, celebrating the past while opening new doors for modern makers and mindful collectors.
Meet Our Makers
We are proud to represent over 80 extraordinary artisans working across ceramics, furniture, fiber, glass, lighting, jewelry, Judaica, and sculpture. Each maker’s story is part of our story — and part of yours.
The Sweetheart Spirit
At Sweetheart Gallery, every object tells a story — of hands, of heart, of heritage.
We invite you to bring these stories into your home and make them part of your life.
