Sweetheart Gallery has been in business since 1981.
In 1993, we had an opportunity to buy a building overlooking the beautiful Tannery Brook Waterfall, also in the heart of Woodstock.
As a natural outgrowth of our gallery, in 2001, we launched SweetheartGallery.Com, a site devoted to the support of American crafts. Our site offers you a carefully selected collection of limited, unique, home and personal accessories, from American contemporary designers and artisans.
In 2021, Lila and Norman sold their Woodstock property and moved their business headquarters to 103 Spring Valley Road, Carrboro, North Carolina 27510.
Sweetheart Gallery is now an online only store.

In 1981, we started our retail gallery in Woodstock, New York. As owners, we have a long history with the arts, and have been making art ourselves for as long as we can remember.
Norman Bacon, co-owner, graduated from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, in 1969, with a degree in art. He enjoyed a thirty year career as an artist potter, selling his work to fine American craft galleries, and museums. During that time he and his wife opened a retail gallery in Woodstock, New York. In 1993, they had an opportunity to buy a building overlooking the beautiful Tannery Brook Waterfall, also in the heart of Woodstock. A larger and more enchanting space, Sweetheart Gallery flourished in that location for many years. In 2000. Norman ventured into online web design courses, to further extend his passion for the arts and the growth of their gallery, by developing their online presence. Yah... we've been around awhile!
Lila Bacon, artist, co-owner, is also a professional painter.
She graduated from the Parsons School of Design in 1973 with a BFA degree; and worked with Norman, painting her finest art onto their ceramic collaborations.
Sweetheart Gallery has flourished, due to the exquisite high quality art and craft we select and display; and because customers like our loving customer service.
Come on in and experience it for yourself! We are here to be helpful with your questions and purchases.
All the best,
Lila & Norman Bacon
