Larch Wood Canada specializes in creating beautiful ‘end grain’ cutting boards handmade from eastern Canadian larch (Larix laricina). Also known locally as tamarack and juniper, Larch Wood source this renewable resource from sustainably managed local woodlots.
The board has been treated with a food-grade mineral oil and a wax finish coat. The wax should be reapplied periodically depending on usage.
The durable self-healing end grain construction of our products provide a smooth, impact-resistant, cutting action that is kind to knives - making these boards a practical choice for chefs in busy commercial kitchens or for daily use at home.
Larch Wood artisans take pride in bringing out the beautiful grain of the larch wood; each item is uniquely and carefully crafted into a work of functional art.
The bold grain patterning and the natural coloring of the larch, along with its renowned durability, was the initial inspiration for handcrafting these cutting boards.
