The artworks by Ingela Noren and Daniel Grant are hand-painted on wood. As taught by an old master in Stockholm, they first apply an under layer of sealing stain or paint. They then mix the pigment with a milk-based glaze and apply it using brushes, combs, sponges, fists, and fingers! In the end, a final varnish is applied to protect the work and create a lovely finish. They impart elegance with a Deco air. They hand make and paint unique furniture and accessories.
Their partnership began in Pietrasanta, Italy in 1986 as marble sculptors. Ingela Norén, a renowned and published weaver, studied arts and crafts in Sweden, her native country, including the study of faux finish techniques.
