Mike Newins of Make Nice Studio creates this sculptural accent table addressing tension and balance.

A gesturally sculpted limestone base with a 16" round top made of solid ash or oak (blackened). The stone is salvage, sourced from a quarry in southern Indiana. The shaping is done by hand. Due to the sculptural nature of the pieces, no two tables are alike.

Custom sizes available upon request.

About Mike Newins

Mike Newins (he/they) is a craftsperson and interdisciplinary designer based in
North Carolina. Through their studio, Make Nice, Newins creates furniture,
objects, and spaces that balance precision with instinct, the soft with the severe.

Working primarily in wood and stone, they combine historical craft techniques with
contemporary design thinking to transform humble materials into one-of-a-kind
pieces. Each project is a negotiation between material constraints and creative
intention; it is part problem-solving, part storytelling. Their approach is hands-on,
intuitive, and rooted in a respect for material life cycles.

Newins operates as values-driven studio, prioritizing sustainability, ethical
sourcing, and close client collaboration. Newins’ work has been featured in Dwell,
Sight Unseen, Design Milk, Interior Design Magazine, and Wallpaper.
